I genuinely hate working in VSCode and Visual Studio, and even if I didn't they aren't practical for my work. Copilot chat has been in preview for a few months now, and it's still only in VS Code. The plugin is significantly better there, and new features are added there first. My second issue is that they've obviously been heavily favoring VS Code. There have been several updates since I last encountered this issue, so it's possible it's been fixed. It's happened to me twice in the 5 or so months I've used it. Whether this sort of issue is acceptable depends on your organization. I'm sure there's some kind of bad cache that needs to be cleared, but the easiest solution has been to remove and reinstall the plugin. These are most likely the negative reviews you're seeing. The plugin autocompleted all 20 assert statements automatically, which was great. This was an assert for 20 fields or so between an entity and DTO. For example, I had a test case where I was testing the field mapping between two different classes. I've found that for the most part it's useful for boilerplate code that's relatively simple. I've got a lot of experience with it now, and so maybe my insight will be useful for someone.
